DMBJ Recs #3: Hurt/Comfort

Apologies for the delay, everyone. I‘ll be honest, this is my favourite genre of all. I admit my recs are biased because Xiaoge is my favourite, suffers a lot, so these are all Xiaoge-centric. Here are a couple of my favourite hurt/comfort fics of different flavours:

Emotional comfort sex

Title: Adore You

Pairing: Pingxie
Rating: E
Why I like it: This is part of a longer series with a developing Pingxiesang relationship, but that is not important for this story. It can stand on its own. For me, this is *the* essential post-Reboot aftermath fic which shows that while Xiaoge has been able to push all feelings aside during the mission, he is now having to deal with everything bubbling up to the surface. Of course being who he is, he tries to pretend he is okay. Wu Xie‘s reaction is what made this fic go into my all time favourites list.

Physical and emotional hurt comfort

Subgenre: Huddling for warmth

Title: in the mountains cold
Creator: laireshi
Rating: G
Setting: pre-Iron Triangle
Why I like it: How do I love this, let me count the ways. Hei Xiazi and Xiaoge in the snowy mountains, an avalanche and huddling for warmth with a person that doesn‘t know what huddling for warmth is. Also some injury tending.

Subgenre: Bathing and Washing

Title: Carry you through
Creator: Fuzzball457
Rating: T
Warning: multiple character deaths of OCs
Why I like it: This one deals with the aftermath of a fun tomb raid gone horribly wrong. The focus is on Xiaoge (who suffers silently) and in general shows a lovely Iron Triangle dynamic.

Title: Weightless Embrace
Creator: MountainRose
Rating: T
Setting: post-Tamutuo meteorite, sort of AU therefore
Pairing Hei Xiazi/Zhang Qiling/Xie Yuchen
Why I like it: Such good aftermath of the whole Tamutuo experience. So what if Hei Xiazi and Xiao Hua had taken Xiaoge and run?
